Sunday Power Outage Plunges Parts Of SL & Okoboji Into Darkness

(Spirit Lake)– A power outage late Sunday afternoon plunged southwest and south-central Spirit Lake and most of Okoboji into darkness.

Officials with Alliant Energy say a substation on 235th Avenue just south of Spirit Lake failed around 5:00 p.m.

Power was restored to most of the affected area in about a half-hour to 45 minutes.
