Spencer Traffic Stop Resuls In Pot Discovery

(Spencer)– An early morning traffic stop in Spencer has landed two people in jail on drug charges.

According to Clay county deputy Brad Hawley, a vehicle was stopped around 2:10 a.m. this (Fri.) morning in the 500 block of West Fifth Street for a traffic violation.

The driver, 25-year-old Andrew Jefson of Garner, was allegedly intoxicated and in violation of Iowa’s open container law. Jefson was taken into custody and a search of his vehicle allegedly turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Jefson and a passenger in his vehicle–23-year-old Emily Suby of Milford–were arrested and transported to the Clay county jail.

Jefson is charged with operating while intoxicated–second offense; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Suby is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jefson’s bond was set at 87-hundred dollars…Suby is being held on a 22-hundred dollar bond.
