Spencer Municipal Election Results

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– The Spencer city council is gaining two new members following Tuesday’s elections.

The only contested race was the Ward Five council seat. Long-time incumbent Jim Roling was challenged by Ron Hanson for the seat that has held for the last 32 years. That challenge proved successful for Hanson, who defeated Roling on a vote of 138 to 110.

The Ward One council seat was also up for grabs. Incumbent Steve Waller was running unopposed until George Kruger decided last week to start a write-in campaign for the seat. The campaign proved successful for Kruger, who defeated Waller by more than 40 votes. The final tally was Kruger with 91 votes and Waller with 54.
