(Spencer)– Spencer police say they’ve made an arrest in a major forgery case.
68-year-old Raymond Eugene Wilson of Spencer has been charged with two counts of forgery…each a class “D” felony; and one count of conspiracy to commit theft…also a class “D” felony.
Authorities say it stems from an investigation in which counterfeit checks were being sent to other participants linked by the internet. 267 counterfeit checks were seized during the investigation. 22 of them had been forged and sent out, totalling more than 63-thousand dollars.
Spencer police say their investigation continues and more arrests are possible.
