(Spirit Lake)– The Tim Tebow Foundation started an event called Night to Shine as a way to honor and value people with special needs. Crosswinds Church has hosted a Night to Shine Event for the past two years and are currently fundraising for 2027. Denise Martinez, who helps organize Night to Shine, tells us about the event…
“The Night to Shine is a prom like event, and it was created by the Tim Tebow Foundation in twenty fourteen. And it’s completely free. And it is geared towards the special needs community ages fourteen and up. And it’s a worldwide event, something that happens hundreds and hundreds of churches all over the world, actually, not just the country. And it’s just centered on honoring them and blessing them and celebrating who they are. You know, who God has made them and just showing them like, we love you. We want to give you something that just shows you how special and amazing each individual human being is.”
Night to Shine is free for all attendees and Martinez talks about their upcoming fundraising event…
“The fundraiser that we’re going to have it’ll be a rummage sale. It’ll take place Memorial Day weekend. So that’ll be that Saturday, May twenty third from eight a m at four p m. And on that Sunday, May twenty fourth, noon to two p m both days will take place at the Crosswinds Spirit Lake Church location, and on that Sunday there will be some deep discounts. So you bring your own market bag, fill it up for five bucks because we just want to, you know, be able to move that, that, that stuff along and also continue to, you know, add into the, into our, our goal that we’re trying to get to, which is, you know, fundraising, all that money to, to pay for night to shine.”
The garage sale will be held at Crosswinds Church in Spirit Lake on Saturday May 23rd from 8:00 to 4:00 and on Sunday the 24th from noon to 2:00. You can also drop off donations for the rummage sale from May 1st through the 16th from 9:00 to 5:00 at Crosswinds Church.
