(Spirit Lake)– U-S Senator Tom Harkin announced Tuesday 36 Iowa High School students, including one from Spirit Lake, have been nominated for appointments to the U-S Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy and Military Academy at West Point for their 2006 classes.
Chris Sandy, a Senior at Spirit Lake High School, has been nominated to the U-S Military Academy and the U-S Naval Academy.
Chris is the son of Shannon and John Sandy of Spirit Lake.
