(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake school board Monday approved a request from the Iowa Great Lakes Youth Soccer Association to start up a girls High School soccer program effective in the spring of 2007. There are some conditions: the association will provide the entire 10-thousand dollars in funding needed in 2007 for the program with the district’s obligation not to exceed 2,500-dollars in the second year; and the program and its costs be shared with the Harris-Lake Park and Okoboji School Districts. The request has yet to be presented to those schools.
