(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake city councilman says it’s high time older parts of the city start getting some of the same amenities being made available in new subdivisions and the downtown area.
Jerry Harbst says he and other council members have been getting calls from citizens in older parts of town wanting new street lights similar to those that have been installed along Hill Avenue, Lake Street and new subdivisions. Harbst says the council will be taking up the issue at a planning session later this month.
City officials say such a project would have to be carried out in phases due to its cost.
