SL Council Approves Engineering Studies

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The possibility of future growth on the city’s southeast side was a topic of discussion Thursday at a special session of the Spirit Lake city council.

Public Works Director Todd Dolphin says the council approved engineering quotes for a study into the possibility of extending sanitary sewer to an area south of 28th Street from Hill Avenue east to Francis Sites and south to 170th Street. As of right now Dolphin says there are no immediate plans for development in that area. He says they simply want to stay ahead of the curve so they’re ready when the right developer comes along.

The council also Thursday approved an engineering proposal for a drainage study in the Pointes of Pines Subdivision.
