(Sibley)– A convicted sex offender living in Sibley has been convicted of violating the state’s residency law for sex offenders.
26-year-old Christopher Hagan of Sibley has pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to comply with Iowa sex offender registry restrictions, first offense.
Hagan was found to be living at 708 Seventh Avenue in Sibley, less than two-thousand feet from the Sibley-Ocheyedan Elementary School.
Hagan was sentenced to 60 days in the Osceola county jail, with all time suspended. He will also remain on probation for two years.
Hagan became a registered sex offender in October of 2001 after he was convicted of lewd and lascivious conduct with a female between the ages of 14 and 17.
