(Primghar)– A Sheldon woman has been charged with a felony contraband count after her recent arrest on other charges. Sheldon police charged 42-year-old Rachael Holz with reckless use of fire, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional institution. She was arrested on Saturday.
An officer states in a criminal complaint that a neighbor summoned police because Holz was allegedly burning clothes and other materials outside the neighbor’s home and was only three feet from a garage. The officer says that Holz was allegedly in an “altered” state during the incident.
While Holz was being medically cleared by the hospital, the officer says hospital staff found a small bag with contents that tested positive for marijuana. As she was being booked into jail, a white crystal substance was allegedly found, which tested positive for methamphetamine.
Holz was charged with possession of contraband in a correctional facility, a class D felony, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, reckless use of fire or explosives, interference with official acts, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She faces a preliminary hearing on June 1st.
