Round Two for Dock permits

The DNR calls it “round two” in its effort to rewrite dock regulations in Iowa. Lowell Joslin reminds KUOO News a public hearing in Wahpeton last year drew a storm of criticism when commercial businesses learned it would cost them tens of thousands of dollars to go through the proposed permit process. After meeting with advisory groups, including commercial dock operators in the Iowa Great Lakes, the DNR has news proposals and will ask for public imjput at a series of public hearings. One will be held at the Spirit Lake community room at the Dickinson County fairgrounds July 12th.
