(Milford)– The Milford City Council Monday evening unanimously adopted a resolution supporting an application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority to allow a regional manufacturer to expand in that city. Brian Rosenboom, President of Rosenboom Machine and Tool, told the city council they’re applying for assistance through the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Business Incentive and Growth program, or BIG.
Rosenboom says the Milford facility, which would be located in what is currently the Oak Hill Outdoors facility, would compliment their existing manufacturing facilities in Sheldon and Spirit Lake, as well as one in Bowling Green, Ohio…
“This Milford project is designed to support our continued growth from our existing operations, including our Spirit Lake facility, which will remain a key part of our Iowa footprint. This project includes the acquisition buildout of a new manufacturing facility located at 2188 Highway 86 in Milford. This facility will provide additional production capacity, will help us improve our production layouts, and will allow us to expand the use of some advanced automation that we cannot accommodate in our current manufacturing footprint.”
Rosenboom gave a timeline for the Milford expansion…
“Project activity is anticipated to begin on or around June 1st, 2026 with development and implementation expected to occur over an approximate four to five year timeframe. And as this project moves forward, we expect to create between 70 and 80 new full time positions that will be across production and manufacturing support, administrative functions. These roles are expected to offer competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and they’ll be supported by enhanced workforce training that we align with our advanced manufacturing technologies.”
Rosenboom thanked those who are helping make the project possible, including the city of Milford and the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation…
“We’d like to thank the city of Milford for its willingness to engage in the thoughtful discussion and continue to work with us collaboratively and also with state and regional and private partners as this project progresses through its review and then ultimately implementation phases.”
