Pre-Trial Hearings For Nearman & Waltz Continued

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– It will be awhile yet before we know the outcome of two high profile court cases in Dickinson county.

Pre-trial hearings were supposed to have been held today (Thurs.) for Justin Nearman…the man charged in a fatal hit-and-run boat crash last August that claimed the life of a Perry, Iowa dentist and seriously injured his wife; and for Meg Waltz who’s accused of misspending more than 400-thousand dollars from the Before And After School Services Program. Both hearings have been continued to March 2nd.

Nearman was originally scheduled to go on trial next month, but Assistant Dickinson County Attorney Jon Martin says that will also be pushed back to atleast later in March. A trial date for Waltz hadn’t been set.
