Polaris Industries To Close Wisconsin Plant; Spirit Lake Plant Is Hiring

November 22, 2014

(Osceola, Wis.)– Polaris Industries, Inc. says it will shut down its parts plant in Osceola, Wisconsin.

The Medina, Minn.-based maker of snowmobiles, ATVS and Victory Motorcycles says it’s moving may of the operations to a new plant in Mexico.

Polaris will continue to make snowmobiles in Roseau, Minnesota and motorcycles in Spirit Lake. The Spirit Lake plant is currently hiring additional workers.

Polaris also says it’s negotiating to sell some of its parts manufacturing processes and equipment in Osceola to suppliers who’d continue to make components there.

Spokeswoman Marlys Knutson says the plant currently employs 515 people, who will be allowed to apply for jobs at the other Polaris plants or with companies that continue producing parts in Osceola.
