(Okoboji)– Yet another legal round is about to get underway between Butch Parks and the city of Okoboji.
A lawsuit pitting Parks, Okoboji Barz and Parks Marina against the city of Okoboji and individual members of the current city council was filed Friday in Dickinson County District Court.
The suit claims the city’s actions have interfered with Parks’ business and investment-backed expectations. Parks claims that he has been repeatedly discriminated against and harrassed, and that his civil rights were violated. The suit asks for damages and punitive damages, plus interest.
Members of the current Okoboji city council and Mayor Bob Schneider are named as defendants.
