“Steve and a retired Air Force bugler decided that they would start, I believe start an organization, it was called Taps Across America, and they were asking people at 3:00 on Memorial Day if they would go out, it doesn’t make any difference where, just outside their front porch or down to the local corner or to the park or whatever, and play taps at 3:00.”
While Taps Across America has been taking place a number of years now in Spencer, Harleman is also encouraging residents around the Iowa Great Lakes and throughout the area to participate as well at 3:00 pm Monday.
