Okoboji School Levy To Drop Considerably

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Good news for property tax payers in the Okoboji Community School District. Superintendent Bob Miller says the school board Monday adopted a budget for the upcoming school year with a levy that’s considerably lower than under the current budget. Miller says the budget for the upcoming school year has a tax asking of $9.57 per thousand dollars valuation…down from $10.50 per thousand currently.

Miller attributes the decrease to an increase in property valuation in the district and the fact the new auditorium at the high school is nearly paid off.

Miller says the Okoboji School District had the third lowest levy in the state under the current budget. He’s hoping the reduced levy in the upcoming school year will make Okoboji the lowest in the state when it comes to property tax askings.
