(Okoboji)– The Okoboji city council held its first meeting of 2006 Tuesday evening. It was also the first meeting for Mayor Mary Vanderwoude and councilman Jerry Robinson.
The meeting was entirely organizational in nature for the upcoming year, with the council and Mayor making various appointments.
Sharlene Eckard was appointed by Vanderwoude as Mayor Pro-Tem and Dave Jacobson was re-appointed Police Chief.
Council members Sue Larsen and Les Marousek were appointed as council representatives on the Finance Committee; and Sharlene Eckard was appointed to the Street and Equipment Committees. The Mayor and City Administrator will also serve on those committees.
Dennis Daly was appointed to a two-year term as City Administrator and Mike Chosen as City Attorney.
Perry Pearson was named Chairman of the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission and Steve Dulin, Lynn Wagoner and Hank Grant were appointed to vacancies on the P & Z. Jim Hentges was appointed to fill a seat on the Board of Adjustment.
