(Okoboji)– We have a clarification to make in our report from a June 1st special meeting of the Okoboji City Council in which a budget amendment was approved.
The story made reference to the council approving a budget amendment reflecting an additional 841-thousand dollars in unanticipated expenses and 732-thousand in additional revenue. The story indicated that most of the additional expenses was due to legal fees, when in fact, those additional expenses were actually reflected in the General Government part of the budget…which makes up only a small part of the city’s General Fund Budget. Of the 841-thousand dollar amendment, City Administrator Dennis Daly says the legal fees only accounted for about 25-thousand of that.
