NW Iowa Motorcycle Crash Seriously Injures 16-Year-Old

(Larchwood)– A motorcycle crash Sunday evening in northwest Iowa seriously injured a teen.

The Iowa State Patrol says a 16-year-old juvenile male from Larchwood lost control of a 2007 Yamaha while attempting to pass another vehicle. Troopers say the teen was ejected from the motorcycle as it went into a ditch. The driver was seriously injured and was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital. Troopers say the driver WAS wearing a helmet.

The crash took place a little after 7:30 pm in the area of Highway 9 and Buchanan Avenue in Lyon county. The State Patrol says it remains under investigation.
