(Spirit Lake)– A new 1.8 million dollar information technology system is about to go on-line at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.
Gordon Larson, the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer, says they’re very excited over the efficiencies the new system will provide both staff and patients.
Larson says the new system will actually go on-line next week and says there could be some minor delays starting Tuesday during the patient registration process as employees get used to the new system.
Larson says the new system will cut down on redundancy and will be a big time saver, as each department in the hospital will have access to the same information on-line.
Larson says they’ve been planning for the change to the new system over the past year. He says staff training has been going on the past week or so and will continue the next several weeks.
LRH is purchasing the system from Computer Program and Specialists, Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama.
