New Boating Law

There’s a new law on the books dealing with hit and run boat accidents. DNR officer Gary Owen says the more stringent penalitites went into effect July 1st. Last year a man was killed on West Lake Okoboji by a hit and run boater. This spring there was another hit and run boating accident where the victim was thrown into the water. Authorites are still looking for the other boater in that incident.
