(Spirit Lake)– A Sibley teen was injured when a motorcycle he was driving collided with a deer on Highway nine west of Spirit Lake.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Isaac Butler of Sibley was driving a 2010 Suzuki westbound on Highway nine about a quarter-of-a-mile east of Highway 86 when he collided with the deer, causing him to lose control.
Butler was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake with incapacitating injuries.
About 1,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the motorcycle.
Authorities say the mishap took place shortly after 9:00 p.m.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spirit Lake Police Department, Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics and the Spirit Lake First Responders.
