Mock Accident Drives Home Dangers Of Drinking & Driving To Students

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Spencer High School was the scene of a mock accident Wednesday involving a drunk driver. The scenario had one student dead, two others seriously injured and another behind bars for drunken driving.

The mock accident was organized by school Resource Officer Ron Whitehead. He says it’s important to illustrate the dangers of drinking and driving to high school students…especially with prom approaching.

Whitehead says he likes to put on the mock crash every four years so it doesn’t get redundant and students start taking it light-heartedly.

Whitehead says the message he hopes to get out is simple–drinking and driving kills, and he wants to see all his students back in the classroom.
