(Rock Rapids)– Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision Monday on Highway nine two miles west of Highway 75 in Lyon county.
The Iowa State Patrol says 74-year-old Cletus Elbert of Emmetsburg was westbound on Highway Nine and had stopped for a road construction zone when he was rearended by a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Arden Hakes of Jackson.
Elbert and a passenger in his vehicle, 72-year-old Kathleen Elbert, complained of head pain. Hakes sustained a small laceration over his right eye.
Damage estimates to the vehicles weren’t available.
The mishap took place around 7:45 a.m. It was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol.
