Minor Injuries Reported In 2-Vehicle Collision

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision in Spencer last week sent an Ocheyedan man to the hospital with possible injuries.

Spencer police say vehicles driven by 66-year-old Bernard Bedsaul of Ocheyedan and 18-year-old Jamie Dean of Spencer were northbound on the inside lane of Grand Avenue when Dean collided with the rear of the vehicle driven by Bedsaul.

Dean told police she was watching a vehicle behind her and by the time she looked back to the front, Bedsaul was applying the brakes and she couldn’t stop in time.

Bedsaul was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital complaining of possible injuries. No injuries were reported to Dean, who was charged with failure to maintain control.

One thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2003 GMC pickup driven by Bedsaul; while damage to a 1997 Pontiac driven by Dean was estimated at 1,500-dollars.

The mishap took place around 12:40 P.M. Thursday near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Fourth Street Southeast.
