(May City) (KIWA)– A Milford man faces charges in a burglary in Osceola county. 35-year-old Chase Hagedorn was arrested last week.
A criminal complaint from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy had placed cameras at the farm place near May City after some previous thefts. When he got there, the deputy says he saw the suspect standing outside his vehicle. He says the cameras showed Hagedorn getting out of his vehicle, and he was allegedly in possession of a roll of aluminum that was observed at the farm place the day before. It was determined that Hagedorn has no ties to the owner or the property. The complaint states that both doors to the home had been kicked in, and there were footprints in the snow consistent with Hagedorn’s boots.
He was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of driving while barred.
Hagedorn was also arrested on charges of fifth-degree theft, trespassing, and was wanted on a warrant out of Pocahontas County for failure to appear.
Hagedorn faces a preliminary hearing on the new charges on February 19th. At last report, he remained in the Osceola County Jail in Sibley in lieu of a $5000 cash or surety bond.
