(Spencer)– A traffic stop early Monday landed a Louisiana man in jail on drug charges.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle around 2:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of Highway 71.
Upon looking into the vehicle, the deputy noticed what appeared to be drug paraphernalia in an ash tray.
The driver, 28-year-old Robert Poulsen of St. Bernard, Louisiana was tested for impairment and was then arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
A subsequent search turned up what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia, baggies and some coffee filters with a white substance alleged to be methamphetamine.
Additional charges of possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia were filed against Poulsen, who was booked into the Clay county jail.
Bond was set at 12,250-dollars.
Authorities say the incident remains under investigation and more arrests are expected.
