(Spirit Lake)– While speed limits are going up in some places, they’re going DOWN in others.
In Spirit Lake, the speed limit on Hill Avenue between 15th Street and the Pump House, or 140th Street in Orleans, is being reduced from 35 mph to 25 mph effective IMMEDIATELY. New signs were put up today (Thursday, July 2nd).
In a post on their Facebook page, the Spirit Lake Police Department says it’s the result of citizen complaints about safety, compounded by narrow lanes of traffic and multiple driveways that are accessed from the street.
