(Des Moines)– Some local manufacturers have been awarded state money to create jobs.
The Iowa Department of Economic Development says the projects will retain or create 539 jobs and bring nearly 78 million dollars in capital investment to Iowa.
East Fork Biodiesel was awarded funding to build a renewable fuels plant near Algona; Easy Automation plans to acquire and redevelop the former Skyjack plant at Emmetsburg to manufacture ethanol production systems; and Interstates Companies in Sioux Center is considering an expansion that would add 19-thousand square feet to the east campus of its facility.
They were among five companies statewide that were awarded funding.
