(Spirit Lake)– The annual Lakes Health Conference is coming up June 4th and 5th at the Dickinson County Expo Center in Spirit Lake.
The event is put on each year by Iowa Lakes Community College. Director of Allied Health and Workforce Education Chantel Teeter says it’s open to healthcare professionals from across the region and that continuing education credits will be available…
“A large number of our attendees are nurses, but we also get social workers, EMT’s, a wide variety of people who need those continuing education hours. Every year it’s a little bit different on the content because it kind of depends on what speakers are out there and what speakers we find that want to come share with us.”
She says this year’s conference will once again feature a keynote speaker and will focus on a number of health-related issues…
“We have Steve Fredlund who is our keynote speaker who has been on TEDx presentations, he is an author. We have topics on forensic nursing, victim assistance, menopause, workplace response, domestic violence. Just a wide variety.”
Teeter says early bird registration continues through May 22nd, with a number of attendance options available…
“You can go to ce.iowalakes.edu and go under the healthcare section and you can find the registration on our website there. We do have options to do the entire conference or to attend just one day or even a half day if you’re not able to attend the whole thing. And our early bird rate is still in effect through May 22nd.”
Teeter adds a number of healthcare-related vendors will also be on hand once again at this year’s conference.
