(Emmetsburg)– State Senator Jack Kibbie of Emmetsburg has been named co-chair of a legislative committee that will review Iowa’s disaster preparedness plans.
Kibbie says the review will take place during the interim period before the next Iowa General Assembly convenes in January. Kibbie says the committee will submit its report to the General Assembly by December 1st.
Among other things, Kibbie says the panel will also study the continued functioning of state government following a disaster.
Kibbie will share the leadership of the committee with co-chairs Senator Larry McKibben and Representative Jodi Tymeson.
Kibbie says they plan to start meeting in September.
