(Spirit Lake)– The President of Iowa State University made several stops in the area today (Monday).
Gregory Geoffroy made stops at Spencer High School and Iowa Lakes Community College where he and ILCC officials announced an Admissions Partnership Program.
From there, Geoffroy travelled to Spirit Lake for a presentation at the Dickinson County Museum for a project in honor of ISU’s sesquicentennial celebration.
The project in Dickinson county consisted of a photo documentation of historic barns. A print with several of the barns was officially unveiled in a ceremony. It will be on permanent display in the museum. A copy of the print was presented to Geoffroy.
Cory Petersen of the Dickinson County Extension Service, which oversaw the project, said it will likely be an ongoing project. She says they plan to issue more prints in the future featuring more of the county’s historic barns.
Geoffroy says the barn documentation project was a very appropriate way for local extension officials to honor ISU’s 150th anniversary.
