ILCC Trustees Review Bids On Dorm Project

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– Trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College Tuesday were updated on plans to build a four-plex domitory north of south third street in Estherville.

Delaine Hiney, Executive Director of Physical Plant, reported that bids had recently been opened on the project. He says Christensen Brothers Construction of Estherville submitted the low base bid of 845,900-dollars. There was also an alternative bid to install geothermal heating and cooling. The trustees voted to accept the geothermal option.

Work on the dorms is slated for completion by this coming September 1st…in time for the 2006 fall term.

Trustees also approved two Accelerated Career Education agreements. One is for an infrastructure agreement for the nursing program that will allow for the remodeling of the nursing and science labs at the Emmetsburg campus. The other is a Job Credits agreement for the CADD program which will provide for the revision of curriculum and purchase of new equipment.
