(Estherville)– The Estherville and Spencer campuses of Iowa Lakes Community College will be getting dormitories.
The college’s board of trustees Tuesday approved plans to build two four-plex dorms in Spencer and two additional four-plex dorms to be added to the housing complex at the Estherville campus. A news release doesn’t mention an estimated cost for the projects.
The college says the additional space is needed in Estherville due to high occupancy rates; in Spencer, they say surveys have indicated additional students would attend that campus if dorms were available.
In other business, ILCC trustees also endorsed an early retirement plan for the upcoming college year and approved upgrades to the second floor of the Technology Education Center in Emmetsburg at a cost of slightly more than 2,500-dollars.
