ILCC Music Dept. Gears Up For Spring Recital

April 15, 2026

The Annual Spring music recital will take place at the Janice K Lund Performing Arts Center at 2:00 on April 23rd. Lincoln Larsen, Director of Music and Performing  Arts at the college says they are looking forward to showcasing the students talents…

“We’re really excited for it because it gives a chance to show how much they developed, how many skills they gained throughout the semester. It’s always fun at the beginning of the semester, just kind of walking down and trying to listen and hear what new music they got going on, and just kind of thinking about how is it all going to come together in the end. But then it always goes great. Every student rises up to the occasion and this recital is always a blast.”

Larsen says it’s also exciting for the community…

“We have lots of community members that come and hang out, whether that’s friends, family. We also just have some fans who like to come in and see what all is going on, and there’s always a reception that happens afterwards. So if you come and make sure you stay for the whole thing and then you can get some cookies and some dessert too.”

Larsen also wants to remind people about the upcoming production of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown that starts this Thursday at 7;30 and will run through Saturday…

“It is absolutely fantastic. Our cast and our crew has been absolutely amazing. We’re starting to do full runs of the show. We got a short little matinee that we’re doing on Wednesday for area third and fourth graders, but then anybody’s welcome to come Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are twenty dollars for adults and then students are only ten dollars to get your tickets. Easiest way to do it is to go to the music Department Facebook page, and then you can get the ticket link there. Or if you just call Iowa Lakes, specifically the Estherville campus, then somebody will be able to take your information there as well. And you can also get tickets at the door if that’s how you prefer to do things.”

You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown starts this Thursday at 7:30 and goes through Saturday. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. The Spring Recital on April 23rd at 2:00 is FREE and open to the public.
