(Arnolds Park)– A heavily traveled road between Arnolds Park and the east side of East Lake Okoboji that’s been closed since last fall for a bridge replacement project could be open to traffic again as early as Friday, May 19th.
Dickinson County Engineer Dan Eckert told the board of supervisors earlier this week the Hinshaw, or Trigg’s Bridge, is nearing completion and could be close to reopening Friday, May 19th…which is the completion deadline in the contract.
Eckert says the contractor has some incentive to get it reopened no later than that date. He says the contract contains a 750-dollar per day penalty against the contractor for each day work continues beyond the May 19th completion date.
