(Spirit Lake)– A natural gas leak at the west end of Lake Street in Spirit Lake caused some excitement late this (Tues.) morning.
Authorities say construction crews working northeast of Central Bank accidentally struck a small gas line, resulting in the leak. Authorities say the gas quickly dissipated thanks to the strong wind. No evacuations were necessary.
Spirit Lake firefighters stood by on the scene as a precaution until officials with Aquila arrived to fix the line.
Firefighters were on the scene about a half-hour.
