(Ruthven)– A freak accident has claimed the life of a Ruthven man.
Palo Alto county sheriff’s deputies and paramedics were called to Coleman and Sons Truck Shop on the north edge of Ruthven around 10:19 a.m. Thursday.
Authorities say 32-year-old Matthew Coleman of Ruthven was working on a straight truck when the rear axle fell on him, pinning him underneath.
Crews freed Coleman, who was taken by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg where he was pronounced dead.
