(Spencer)– A former financial official for the city of Spencer has pleaded not guilty to theft in the 1st degree, credit card fraud and felonious misconduct in office.
The charges against 52-year-old LaVonne Bell stem from an investigation after a special audit by the state. The report called into question $46,000 in transactions from January 1st, 2018 until June 30th, 2024, while Bell was employed with the city.
A trial date hasn’t been set yet.
