Fire Destroys Vacant Trailer House Northeast Of Terril

November 22, 2014

(Terril)– Fire departments from three communities battled a blaze at a vacant trailer house Monday on a farm northeast of Terril.

Terril Fire Chief Tim Matthews tells KUOO news firefighters were called to the scene two miles east and a half mile north of Terril around Noon. He says the trailer was already heavily involved when firefighters arrived and wound up being totally destroyed.

Matthews says they managed to keep the blaze from spreading to a nearby residence, some old campers and other trailers.

The cause remains under investigation. An alleged meth lab was busted by law enforcement officers in that same area this past spring.

The Terril Fire Department was assisted by the Superior and Wallingford Fire Departments and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters were on the scene about an hour and-a-half.

No injuries were reported.
