(Milford)– Some outbuildings southwest of Milford were destroyed by fire this (Friday) afternoon.
Milford Fire Chief Brian Craig says firefighters were called to 2530 190th Avenue around 12:30 p.m. One building was pretty much involved when firefighters arrived. The blaze then spread to a neighboring building, at which point the Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Department was called for assistance.
Craig says the buildings were old and dilapidated and were pretty much destroyed, along with their contents consisting mainly of junk.
Craig says firefighters had poor access to the battle the blaze and had to cope with some very warm temperatures.
The Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance stood by as a precaution, but no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall.
Firefighters were on the scene most of the afternoon.
