(Washington, D.C.)– The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded more than $27 million in disaster funding to northwest Iowa communities ravaged by flooding in 2024.
More than $22 million will go the city of Rock Valley for a buyout program affecting 104 properties; Sioux Rapids will receive $149,000 also for a housing buyout; Hawarden is receiving more than $360,000 also for a buyout program; Rock Valley is receiving more than $3.5 million for debris removal and repair and Palo Alto county was awarded more than $208,000 for drainage district repairs.
