Farm Bureau Federation Awards Water Quality Grants

November 22, 2014

(Undated)– Palo Alto, Clay, Kossuth, Emmet and Dickinson counties will share in one of five 2,500-dollar grants awarded by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation to protect water quality.

Rick Robinson, Iowa Farm Bureau Environmental Policy Advisor, says the grants are provided through a program designed to support innovative, local citizen-enacted one or two-year projects that provide information to people about nonpoint source pollution.

Robinson says several factors go into determining whether or not funding is awarded for a particular project.

Initial funding for the program came from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation began exclusive funding of the project in 2000.
