Fairmont Woman Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle

(Fairmont) A Fairmont woman was killed on Friday evening in Fairmont after being struck by a vehicle while crossing 4^th street. Police report the incident happened around 6:05 pm in the 600 block of east 4^th street. Authorities say the 64-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on 4^th street. Despite lifesaving measures the 64-year-old woman died at the scene. The vehicle was being driven by a 56-year-old woman who was taken into custody. Identities of the people involved have not yet been released as the incident is still under investigation.
