(Spirit Lake)– Expect to see more law enforcement officers on the road over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
Several local law enforcement agencies, including the Spirit Lake Police Department, say they’ll be stepping up enforcement as part of Iowa’s Special Traffic Enforcement Program, or STEP.
Officials say they’ll be keeping a close eye out for speeders, those not buckled up, children who aren’t properly restrained and other violations of traffic laws.
The special enforcement period begins Monday and continues through next Sunday, November 27th.
