(Hartley)– State Fire Officials have wrapped up their investigation into the fire at a vacant Hartley meat-packing plant last week. But an exact cause of the fire can’t be found. Deputy State Fire Marshal Dave Schipper says there is no indication the fire was intentionally set.
Firefighters were called to the former BSI plant in the early morning hours of October 25th. Investigators believe the fire started in the northwest corner of the old main building. Schipper says a lightning strike earlier that week could have been a factor.
No one was injured in the fire.
Damage to the building is expected to exceed 1.5 million dollars.
