The Emmetsburg softball team got their first conference win of the season on Wednesday night by beating Cherokee 7 – 2. Emmetsburg would collect 7 runs on 10 hits and were led by Bailee Garrelts as she went 4 – 4 with 3 RBI’s. Tegan Olson also had a hit with 3 RBI’s. The pitching from Ashton Connelly was outstanding as she went 7 innings giving up just 1 earned run while striking out 10 batters.
Emmetsburg improves to 5 – 3 and 1 – 3 in the conference. Cherokee falls to 3 – 9 and 2 – 3 in the lakes conference.
