Emmet County Sheriff’s Office Says Dogs Running At-Large In Armstrong Area Are Killing Small Livestock

May 04, 2026

(Estherville)– Authorities in Emmet county are cracking down on those who allow dogs to run at-large. They site several incidents in the Armstrong area since October of last year in which dogs attacked and killed small livestock.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says charges have been filed against several people in the incidents, with some being cited repeatedly. They add it’s an ongoing issue.

They say the incidents remain under investigation by both the Emmet County Attorney’s Office and the Armstrong City Attorney, and that the city of Armstrong is beefing up its ordinance pertaining to dogs at-large.
